Weight Loss; A Touchy Subject.

So I wanted to write about something a bit serious, and something that still ties into fashion. Weight loss. As I am sure you can tell by my photos, I am overweight. I weight about 185 pounds at the moment. But there has been a time in my life when I was over 200 pounds. I have always been a chubby kid, but still healthy somehow. I've had blood tests and urine tests and all that, which always came out average, or even above average. The only reason I ever had reason to worry about weight was the way that society viewed me. I'm always told that I'm "pretty, but..." and what usually followed the "but.." was the fact that I am heavy set.

Normally I would just blow it off and say that I was happy in my own skin, WHICH I TOTALLY WAS! But recently as I have become more interested in the fashion world, and in clothing...I have realized that the world is not made for a girl of my size. And I have also realized that just because the tests SAY I'm healthy...I'm really just not. I never ate ALOT of food, but when I did eat...it wasnt good for me.

So needless to say, I think you all know where I am going with this...I am starting to diet and exercise. Something I was never fond of. My family members and friends have always been on diets and so forth, and I would normally just say "Are you crazy?! You're beautiful! Why starve yourself?!" But now, I feel like it's time for me to get fit and get in shape. Now as casual as I may seem to be taking, I am also getting alot of mouth from my family about losing weight, and that the way I am doing it is wrong. My grandmother believes that she is the diet guru and knows it all. So...I am trying my hardest to get the weight off and prove to her, that I know what  I'm doing.

Not only am I dieting (eating small portioned, heathily prepared meals), exercising mulitiple times a week (I even joined the gym my boyfriend goes to for motivation), but I am also going to start taking some diet supplements. Please, hold back the hisses and moans...and let me explain.

I know that "diet pills" and supplements are not always the best thing to do. I know that they can be dangerous and cause more harm than good. But being that I have always been big, I realize that it is a problem with my heredity. So I am taking a supplement that is going to speed up my metabolism and give me much needed energy. And I am also aware that diet pills are not magic pills...I still need to diet and exercise.

Anyhow, I just wanted to put this here for other people to read if they are also in my kind of situation. It's never a bad thing to be fit. Not super skinny, with an eating disorder...but FIT and HEALTHY. But if you're a big girl, and you are honestly happy and healthy in medical ways, than believe me...that is completely okay too. :)

If you have any questions, or are curious about diet pills/supplements just leave me a comment and i'll reply later.

until next time,
xoxo

Work, Work, Work!

I think I mentioned once that I was a barista. I work at a local Starbucks in a Target. It's my first job, and I ABSOLUTELY love it. It's just so much fun! Lucky for us, the Starbucks in the mall that we're attached to has recently shut down, so we're getting all their business. Sooooo that means more hours! Were I was lucky to get over 8 hours in a week, I am now getting about 23 hours a week!! :3

BUT, I am also still in college. So, although I am totally committed to this blog...this does mean that my updates may be more... sporadic. And I am posting this just to apologize in advanced.

I will try to post as much as possible, but it would most likely be about trends and other random things, and less OoTD. Mostly because 95% of the time I will be in uniform and its not very cute/flattering (black polo and khaki pants).

Anyway, I just wanted to let ya'll know what will be going on.

until next time,

Feather Extensions!

AND MYSELF:

I freakin LOVE them! I ordered them featherextensionsforhair.com (im pretty sure). They were about ten bucks for four feathers and three micro clips and a hair hook. SO TOTALLY WORTH IT. and it's really easy to do yourself, (but it may benefit to get a friend to help). they're a lot thinner like, size wise than i was expecting, but I really like them. They don't like, SCREAM for attention, they're just cute and fun. i got style 6, I think. It's a more natural colored style. But if you want to stick out more, they have plenty of fun colors as well.

There are a bunch of places on the web you can get them from, just be sure you know what you're looking for. Alot of places only sell to salon's as well, and if you REALLY want to go the cheap route, you can find them on ebay as well. And if you're afraid that you wont know how, either hit up YouTube (that's what i did), or even talk to your hair dresser and see if they can't order some in bulk!

on a side note, I wore an amazing outfit yesterday, and totally forget to snap a photo before going to the gym after class. :( :( :( i was sooo bummed! but with spring coming around soon, and the weather getting nicer, i'll be dressing a lot better just cuz i'll be in the mood to!

until next time,

Harem!

Harem pants. An Indian inspired fashion trend. I wasnt quite sure how i felt about these pants at first. they always made me think of MC Hammer...and I didnt really like that. But not harem pants are being tailored a little bit differently; tightly from the knee down. And i really liked this look now. They look really comfy, funky and fun! I'm trying to get my hands on a pair, without spending WAY too much.

On a side note; sorry I didnt update yesterday. I went to the gym after school yesterday, and was super tired. and today i had work, and hit the gym but wanted to make sure i gave ya'll SOMETHING to read. I have work tomorrow EARLY and then boyfriend time hopefully. But now i smell of coffee and sweat. That's the only downside of working at Starbucks; you constantly smell like coffee and/or syrups. blech! so yeah LE SHOWERTIME.

until next time,

Outfit of The Day 2.8.11

Cardigan: Old Navy
V-Neck: Old Navy
Jeggings: Target
Ring: Gifted
Shoes: Urban Outfitters

Today was a school day, and I also had a few errands to run. Nothing much really, but I had a class this morning which required a uniform, so I grabbed somthing quick to change into. I just bought this cardigan on sale the other day. It's a metallic boyfriend cardigan, it's got like this sparkly threads in it and SUPER adorbz.

Anyhow, today was a long long long day. I had class at 9 in the morning, then I ran some errands with the boyfriend and had to be back at school at 5. Needless to say, I'M BEAT and totally ready for bed. I promise a longer entry tomorrow, since i dont have class until to, and may or may not being going to the gym in the evening.

Tights, Leggings, Pantyhose, etc.

Whatever you may call them, I LOVE 'EM!
I have a pair of plain black ones, a pair of sheer lace ones, and i just bought two more pair last night from Old Navy! I'm so excited!! haha. I finally got a pair with the little dots on them, and i got another lace pair, but these are alot more  fishnet style than the ones i have. i tried to search ON's site for photos...no luck...hmm.

Tights (or Nylons, or Pantyhose, or what have you...) are AWESOME! I mean, you can wear shorts, skirts or dresses even when it's a bit chilly out. that's why i have such a passion for these things. Also, they can just add a little pop to your outfit! i usually wear them with dresses or long sweaters. i havent quite gotten the whole shorts thing down yet...i just dont have any outfits that it would make sense with, i suppose...and i dont really own too many skirts (although i did get this cute pleated lace skirt recently).

I also tend to stick with black when i buy tights, just because i like to keep things classy, and black is very suiting and can be used in everyday attire. I have a few pairs of brightly colored thigh highs that i inherited from a family friend with a dress shop...i just havent had any outfits i can justify would be worth it. I'm not quite that BOLD. Although if i ever stumble upon a cute floral pair like in that last photo, i would LOVE to pair that with something in my closet.

until next time,
xoxo

Outfit of The Day 2.6.11

hat: Urban Outfitters
Scarf: PacSun
Shirt: Urban Outfitters
Jeggings: Target
Boots: Candies
Rings: gifted, Target, Kohls

I went shopping today with my boyfriend. It's been really kind of chilly this past week, and the snow on the ground is still really taking over, so I didnt wanna dress too too nice. This is one of my kind of my toned down looks I suppose. I do wear alot of black and grey. They pretty much go with everything, and being that it was gross outside, I felt that it was fitting. hahaha.

Most of my wardrobe is on the cheap side. I don't make enough money to spend too lavishly. Once and a while I will splurge and get something nice from UO or some place like that. It's funny because, those boots were actually seventy bucks, but I had a bunch of coupons and I ended up only spending about ten bucks on them. YES! I love bargains. So, through this blog you'll see that alot of my stuff can be found for cheaper. I always loved that about myself. I can create alot of popular looks without spending my entire paycheck, haha.

But anyhow, for my first look, i dressed it down a bit, but yeah. No makeup here either, but on other looks I'll go into more detail.

until next time,
xoxo.
